Interview of Inspirational Flavor: isadore and exray...from isadore and exray...

Good morning everyone in bloggie-do land!! Have you missed me since yesterday? We may have a few new readers after today!

Do I have a treat for YOU!! For my Interview of Inspirational Focus for this Friday...(which is today for all you "yes on 19"voters)... I had to be like a tampon thief and pull some strings (ick) and I have put together an interview with..

isadore and exray!!

Photobucket

So let's get down to it!! It was SERIOUS fun!!

ok...ahem... here it is...

Hey guys, Lets kick off this interview with a question like

me: Who are isadore and exray?

is: i'm isadore... ... ...

ex: i don't think is understood this question... which may be a recurring theme in this interview... we are brothers who make music... it's basically the only thing in life we excel at...

me: Where did the names “isadore” and “exray” come from?

is: greek in origin... "isidoros"... meaning: exclusive gift... fitting, isn't it? being that i'm so rare & amazingly wonderful? there have been several saint isadore's over the years... so that kinda fits me as well... ... ... hmm... to be honest, i always thought it was a girls name...

ex: well i have this pair of goggles with which i can see all things... so the name seemed natural...

me: Who is your band’s biggest support?

is: our small group of family & loved ones... obviously...

me: umm...

ex: hmm... yes... there's one thing we absolutely have to get out of the way here... because, frankly, it's bothering me a bit... maybe more than a bit... "technically" speaking we are not a band... i've always felt that to qualify for that term a "group" must consist of at least THREE individuals... so, in reality... and existentially... we are a duo... we are, in fact, america's #1 "alternasynthrock" duo... we make that distinction because we're quite certain that there is no other "alternasynthrock" duo... well, at least in america... perhaps there might be in germany or denmark? who knows... but to politely answer your question... we have an amazing group of fans which we cultivated online via MySpace and Facebook and they span a number of countries... i'd feel remiss if i didn't at least mention our dearest friend, associate, collaborator, head-shrink, and manager... (drum roll) the lovely xochitl petal...muah! love ya xoch!!!

is: ... ...

ex: oh, um... am i boring you is?

is: look... not to offend, but this question is totally standard fair & uninteresting...

me: ::rolls eyes::

... if we were conducting this interview in person, this is the part where i would storm out of here... in true rockstar fashion... but... since i'd be leaving my own dwelling, i guess it's probably better to just stay put... for now...

ex: yeah, good idea bro....

me: I'm gonna have to second that...

is: ... but i mean really, dude... who else is going to support us? umm let's see... hamsters... yeah... they uh... totally freakin' love is & ex... always been there for us... sheesh...

me: ....wow...

ex: i must refer you to the first answer i gave here and remind you that is did not necessarily understand the question...

me: well, besides the fact that you both just totally took my question and slapped me in the feelings with it ...::sniff::...let's proceed...

regrouping....

me:What’s the latest scoop on new music production…basically I’m asking when will the new album come out?

is: ... ... ... hmpf...

ex: ok... apparently i'll take this one... well the release of the new album actually coincides with the release of our first album... because... well... they're one and the same... it's titled "thank you, invisible..." and is currently being mixed and mastered at TrakWorx studio in San Francisco, CA... it will be available for sale and download before the end of the year... we are currently recording our follow up album which we plan to release in the first half of next year...

me: If you could be any animal what would it be and why?

is: ok ok! i can't stay mad at you when you ask fun animal questions! yay! ummmm... i'd be a platypus! no! a tiger! no! a guppy! no! a red panda! no!!! ... we'll be here forever if i actually sit here & force myself to make a decision...

ex: ah-ha! now that is how you get isadore interested in answering a question... ... ... i think maybe i'd be a mustang horse... because their "baddass" quotient is absolutely through the roof!

me: ....i'd be....flamingo... :huff: not that...anyone asked...

me: Favorite dinosaur on the count of three!

1, 2, 3! :

is & ex: gwangi the great!!!
me: pterodactyl!

me: Favorite tracks?

is: are we talking about animal tracks? 2 questions ago you asked about animals soooo i don't know maybe you're just stuck on them or something? well, i don't have very much experience with tracking animals... soooo... ...

me: actually i meant..

ex: dude what are you talking about!? you spent three hours the other morning following a praying mantis around the yard... i'd say that's some skillzzzzzz!!!

me: um.....guys?...

is: oh! or maybe you meant race tracks? but if so, are we talking car? horse? dog? ant? snail? this question just isn't specific enough... ...

ex: yes, most definitely the horse-races... which reminds me... i need to place that trifecta bet on the 6th race...

me: ....

is: ... ohhhhhhhh... you meant music tracks! yes, of course, we do have that sort of thing... umm... my favorite song differs from day to day but usually i go steady with slowwy & sparkle & i think you think i care...

me: Where can potential fans go to catch an earful of your music?

is: ... um... er... have you all met my brother, exray?

ex: one can always go to www.myspace.com/isadoreandexray or our Facebook page to listen to a few tracks for free... what's there at the moment are all demo versions of songs which will appear on our first record. we will be putting up album versions in the near future...

me: What kind of merchandise do you have for fans?

is: on me? umm... i probably have some pocket lint... but i wouldn't sell that... i mean, they can have it... for free... i wouldn't try to profit off of something so useless... unless like, people reeeeally wanted it... then i'll start harvesting it & put it up on ebay...

ex: ah isadore... what an entrepreneur! we do currently have a Zazzle.com store with a few choice items for the is and ex fan, we will be expanding this area once our album comes out...

me: What are your musical influences?

is: i don't really listen to a lot of music, but when i do, for some strange reason, i like to listen to film scores... i particularly like the work of james newton howard... his stuff inspires me, so i suppose that would be considered influential to my music writing... lyrically, that's a different story... that is influenced solely by my unglued life...

ex: in a way i think every bit of music i've ever heard has influenced me, even music i dislike, in the fact that it only strengthened my desire to make my own music... any time i saw someone on a stage i'd think, "that's where i belong"... much like isadore, i don't listen to a lot of music ... i feel like it can cloud my creative process and colour what i'm doing... that being said, we've always been big fans of Billy Corgan... and who doesn't like the Beatles?
THE END

To my readers: I hope ALL of you enjoyed this interview! These guys are 10 pounds of cool in a 5 pound bag! I'll see you all on Monday for

  2. Isadore you seem to be putting on a facade trying to be exotic/wacky/cool? Unless you're willy wonka I doubt that's the real you. Just so you know, from a strictly objective point of view, acting like you're loony is pretty lame. Also, the (I'm assuming fake) self-aggrandizing doesn't come off well either. Humble & genuine, are far less of a turn-off than a willy wonka rick james combo.
    Sincerely,
    (feeling tainted)

  3. um... jojo... idiot monkey boy... sir/ma'am... whoever you be... i guess you're really into willy wonka or something? look, i'm not acting loony, dear... i have actual psychological disorders... how dare you try to belittle somebody with a disability... like seriously, you should be ashamed... judging by your name, you probably think retarded people are something to joke about, huh? yeah...

anyway, sorry if i seemed fake to you... maybe you can go watch a lady ga-ga or kanye west video for some realism...
